1. Main raw materials

Main raw materials mainly include various corundum raw materials, fused magnesia, spinel, fused zirconia, fused silica and fused mullite. The selection of main raw materials depends on the different products and parts to choose different main raw materials. The commonly used raw materials are corundum or high aluminum raw materials, and the slag line is made of partially stable fused zirconia raw materials. 2. Graphite raw material

The extensive use of graphite in continuous casting products is to ensure high thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance, but the adverse effect of using graphite is that the product is prone to oxidation. Therefore, in order to prevent graphite oxidation and improve the corrosion resistance of the product, high-purity flake graphite is often used.

3. Additives

In order to improve the performance of continuous casting products, a certain amount of modifying additives, such as antioxidants, are often added to the ingredients. Commonly used antioxidants include metal aluminum powder, silicon powder, silicon carbide, boron carbide, Al Si, and Al Mg alloy powder. The addition of additives is sometimes utilized to enhance the performance of materials such as SiC, Si3N4, AlN, etc. that generate non oxides during the heat treatment process; Alternatively, during use, it can be oxidized before graphite, reducing CO to C and inhibiting the consumption rate of C in the product; Or generate C and oxides, increase the density of refractory materials, form a protective layer, promote graphite crystallization, and improve the high-temperature strength of products.


4. Organic binder

The binders used in continuous casting are all resins, including phenolic resin and furfural phenolic resin. These resins are used to form carbon bonds after heat treatment, resulting in high strength of the product. Therefore, it is required that the resin should have high residual carbon, suitable viscosity, and stable performance. The amount of resin added is usually between 5% and 10%.
